ACTIVITY IDEA
1. Students video record a spontaneous interaction with a classmate. Topic is small talk.
2. Students listen to the Spanish girls’ video recording and identify the interlocutor responses in reaction to each turn including new information.
3. Students classify responders in categories.
4. Students watch their own video recording, identify responders and classify them.
5. Results from steps 3 and 4 are compared and discussed.
6. Students repeat step 1, watch their video and write a reflection comparing performance on responders in their first and second videos.
